Big Boss needs his retainers: Da Big 'Uns

-Who needs to be smacked, boss.

The next batch of this army is the big 'uns unit. I wanted to keep the old 3rd edition theme, so most of the marauder and more recent miniatures are a bit off for this plan. However, Greenskin Wars "recently" produced a unit of orcs that fit the style of these old orcs and have the perfect size for a big 'un.

I am a fan of the 5th edition boys command group nonetheless, and they are probably the only 4th-5th ed. orcs that fit into this unit so far. The other orcs around that time have a mix of more recent style of faces or some gremlin looking faces. Instead, I prefer a mix of the Kev Adam's GSW orcs and the orc champions from the eighties, later deemed 4th ed. line of big 'uns. They still have some long faces, wacky and evil armours, details, etc. which are the one I am looking for.

My unit should be mostly armed with spears, which might pose an additional problem to collect the complete unit. Not all of the old orc champions, or newer Kev Adam orcs, have a spear. So I thowed an additional Kev's spear orcs still sold at Ral Partha.
Because the more, the merrier in this lot.

The skin tonnes are brighter than in the normal boy unit, and the saturated greens contrast with the yellow/brown.

This last guy was remarkably fun to paint and his small squig friend make them one of the most characterful orcs in the unit so far.

Some scenes taken with these guys.

And for now that's it. I intend to release some of the other units before Christmas, but let's see.
